Top Tip
March 2025, Wishmaster offers tips to help new players who are looking to move beyond Training Bees and start playing with Working Bees:
This play style fits players:
- Plan to log in more than twice a day
- Want to focus on playing on Earth (Universe 1)
- Have a budget of $100 or so
Should they buy $HXD? If so, how much and how?
Buy $100 worth of HXD since this is based on a $100 budget. Buy all assets from the in-game marketplace, because it is way easier to search through than the Magic Eden marketplace. You do need a few dollars worth of SOL in your wallet for transaction fees.
Which assets should a new player purchase now?
A Gen1 level 20 Earth Queen with 260+ stats, 18/18 breeds, and as many Working Bees in the same mood as your Queen as you can get. A Gen 1 Queen at level 20 gives the biggest mission boost to your whole hive when Hunting or Harvesting with Bees with the same mood as your Queen.
REMEMBER: Breeding can change the Queen’s mood and that is NOT what you want to happen by mistake. A bred-out Queen is also cheaper to buy.
How does a player know that what they are buying from the Marketplace is a good deal?
This is not easy, because it changes over time. A Bee with 180+ Capacity, Agility, and Endurance for the floor price or even cheaper is, however, always a good deal.
Which game-play items should a new player purchase now?
As few as possible in the beginning. You want to make team that can reach the same zone and if you are not getting enough Endurance shards yourself, you can buy Endurance upgrades if you need a Bee to go to higher zone.
Should a new player buy Cosmetics?
With a $100 budget its the best to focus on bees only. Cosmetics are not cheap and often using upgrade items will be cheaper. When you start upgrading Bees you can also start checking cosmetics to see what gives a better deal. If you like to change the visuals of your Bees, cosmetics are amazing, but when it’s about earning potential and playing with a budget there are simply better things to invest in for a while.
Should a new player buy a season pass? If so, which?
Buy the starter pass at least. The shards are worth more than you pay for the pass. The Royal Pass is also good to buy for the same reason, but you can also buy a few Bees instead, which is the better option.
What should they wait on? (Breeding, etc.)
I would wait with breeding until the game feels familiar and you completely get the importance of mood and landform matching. Most breeds need to be sold or traded so you can get a Bee with the right mood/landform.
I would also not think about Universe 2 (Cocarro) until you have grown your hive to a good size. Maybe 100 Bees. Do not upgrade your Bees with anything other than Endurance until you know exactly how Capacity, Agility, Luck, and Recovery work. All other stats are not needed for Harvesting and Hunting.
Should the player buy XP points?
Not with a $100 budget. With a high budget for sure. Level 30 makes you able to send 12 bees per team and 20 teams at the same time.
What are the pitfalls (if any) of these recommendations?
When you do PvP you can potentially lose your HXD. You can earn a good amount of HXD, but make sure you stop when you fact enemies that are too strong or you are getting revenge attacks and lose HXD. Do not blindly use your recourses. Think about everything you do and make sure you understand it before you do.
Are there Player Guides, videos, or other supporting materials the new player should study?
Read everything about Universe 1 (Earth), after the Welcome Pass read it again, and after playing for a week or two, read it again. You will understand everything much better this way.
If the player decides to change their playstyle, will they be able to do so with the recommended assets?
You can play with these assets in any way you want, but the best will always be to make sure your Bees are not idle too much. Idle Bees do not earn HXD. If you want to go hardcore you can set alarms when your teams are ready to be send out again. This will increase your earnings a lot.

Best way to get 5 free Working Bee Egg shards from a Training Bee
- Hatch a Traing Bee Egg — Every player gets free hatches each month, check the timer at the top to the Hatching Machine screen to see when your next free Hatch is due
- Apply 10 upgrades to your new Bee
- Use this Bee to Hunt — Send him to Lands that have no competition and are just about to drop a pot so you complete your 60 Hunts as quickly as possible (see this video for instructions)
- Convert the Bee for 5 Generation Egg shards and 40 utility shards
- Repeat! You will soon have enough Generations Egg shards to make a Working Bee!

Top Tips for Growing Hives!
• Build your hive like you are already level 30. All Bees that match your Queen’s mood are great, but the more diligently you try to build landform matches and like matches among your Bees of similar Endurance, the better off you’ll be down the road.
• Upgrading is expensive, wait to do it. If you’re Hunting actively, using your Harvest yields to buy new Bees, or Breeding, your hive is going to grow. If you waste all your precious upgrade shards before your hive is finished growing, you’ll regret it, I promise!
• Everyone has their own playstyle, but history has shown that Hunting is the fastest way to grow your hive. Eventually, you will start Harvesting much more than you are Hunting, but it takes Honey to make Honey and the most effective use of land slots for small to medium sized hives includes a large block of lands reserved for Honeypot sniping.
September’s Top Tip
This month’s tip comes from Anti. You may recognize him from the floor price updates he shares on his Twitter/X account and in his channel in our Honeyland Discord server.
Let’s learn a bit more about Anti!
How did you learn about Honeyland and how long have you been playing?
I was told about Honeyland by RXIS while being his scholar in Crypto Unicorns, I’ve been playing since August 2023.
What was your biggest mistake when you started playing (and how did you fix it)?
I was very careful to read the FAQs and ask a lot of questions of other players to help prevent mistakes
What’s your favorite Bee trait?
I love all devilish bee traits! Horns, Devil & Angel, Devil Wings
Hunt, Harvest, or PvP? What’s your favorite way to play?
Harvest
What’s the best tip you have for someone just starting Honeyland?
Monitoring the in-game marketplace prices of assets and items can be really powerful knowledge.
Staying informed about how much assets/items are worth can be used to:— Buy cheap, sell higher— Keep you from underpricing your items when selling
More thoughts on pricing:
Its all about demand, some moods are more expensive, some moods are cheaper, in my personal opinion every mood is equal. If you are going to list a Bee without underpricing it, it’s always best to search the marketplace to find a Bee that’s as similar as possible to yours. Use the price of that Bee to help you decide what price to set for your Bee.
Remember, you can always change the price.
In the process of making price charts each day, I’ve learned that every single announcement, or word from a team can drastically change what is happening in the in-game marketplace, so staying up to date with what's going in Discord and other things like reading the Medium articles can be profitable. Sometime rumors can move the market as well.
Thanks for the tip Anti!
